Halo 3 Beta open?

So i was playing Gears of War honing my skills for the new Annex Update and a fellow by the name of wookeman began talking about the latest news. Seemed like he knew what he was talking about, but he was updating us about news that i already knew, so I let him continue talking. Then he mentioned that the Halo3 Beta will be opening 3 days after the Halo2 maps release, on April 20th. I still question his source of information, but with the lack of any news on Halo3, I’m hopeful its true. I asked him where he had heard gotten the date from and he said “my friend’s mother works with Microsoft”. How many times have i heard that!? But how many times has great info leaked from employees who cant keep quiet? Many.

I honestly don’t see why they wouldn’t open around that time. The Halo hype machine is slowly withering away, with Halo fanboys waiting on edge for any sign of a date. I bought Crackdown hoping that beta would have opened by the time i gotten bored with the game, but that day has come and passed. The only thing that would really support the rumor would be the fact that Bungie has just updated to new servers. What do you guys think?
