Update: Gears of War

Mark Rein stopped by the Gears of War forums and mentioned some info on the new update coming. Saying there will be fixes on a bunch of glitches and a new gametype. Not to mention it will be free of charge!

Here was his post:

“The next title update for Gears of War is currently going through the certification process. We’ll have more detail about the update next week but I can tell you that in addition to fixing a whole bunch of glitches, and providing 720p for VGA users running at 1280×1024, it will contain a brand new multiplayer gametype called Annex.Some folks who got to play it a few weeks ago said they think it is our best multiplayer gametype yet but I’ll leave it for you fans to decide what you think for yourself when it shows up soon on Xbox Live. New Halo 2 Maps!

Bungie has announced that there will be two new maps releasing for Halo 2. The maps will be available as download content for both the original Xbox and the Xbox 360.

The two maps titled as Tombstone and Desolation, are more old than they are new. You would know them better as Hang ‘em high and Derelict. Yes its true, the oh-so-wonderful map Hang ‘em High is back and updated with new graphics, new features and “new suprises”. Desolation will be and updated version of Derelict. Making it faster paced and more balanced. Time to dust off that Halo2 box and relive the action once again. Unless you still havent taken that game out of your xbox.

The two maps will be released on April 17 and will be priced at $4. There are no mentions on an option to use Microsoft Points, so i guess you cant use those extra points that you have laying around.

Grand Theft Auto 4 trailer here!

Trade guns for games

Turn in a high-caliber firearm for a computer. Trade a pistol for an xbox.

On Tuesday, a program was launched in Tepito, Mexico. The program will allow you to trade a firearm for an xbox or computer. The program was created to help decrease violence in Mexico. 17 guns were turned in on the first day, 12 were from Tepito and all guns will be destroyed by the Mexican Army. If successful, the program will be extended to Iztapalapa.

I enjoy it when governments do things like this. If only they did something like that for the US.

Xbox Elite confirmation?

Most of us completely believe that the Xbox Elite is coming. Even if there is no official announcement, the evidence adds up. For those of you who are still skeptical, Xbox360 Fanboy has found a few shots from a production line. The screenshots were posted on a very popular chinese forum.

New images of the Xbox Elite

Some people, including Engadget, are saying the images look fake. I remember seeing the box art for the halo3 box and thinking they looked fake, but it ended up being the real thing. What do you think; fake or not?

Japanese Breakout

I had a really long day and decided to lighten it up by watching some random videos on Youtube. While hoping for some great leaked videos, instead i found this short clip. I’m sure some of you have seen odd, cool and sometimes funny Japanese TV shows like the popular Matrix Ping Pong video. This one is a clip of the game Breakout where the blocks are made of Marshmallows.
